Canada Invites 1,121 Candidates in Provincial Nominee Program Express Entry Draw

On August 26, Canada conducted a new Express Entry draw, issuing 1,121 Invitations to Apply (ITAs) under the Provincial Nominee Program (PNP). The minimum Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score required for this draw was 694 points, which is four points higher than the previous PNP draw on August 13, where 763 ITAs were issued.

A separate draw was held on August 15, specifically for candidates with French language proficiency. This draw issued 2,000 ITAs with a minimum CRS score of 394.

This surpassed the previous record of 107,350 ITAs issued in 2020.

For 2023, Canada set a record immigration target of 465,000 permanent residents. The target for 2024 is even higher, at 485,000.

The latest draw implemented a tie-breaking rule based on profile submission date and time: August 3, 2024, at 1:54 PM EST. Candidates with the minimum CRS score who submitted their profiles before this date and time received invitations.

This was the 33rd Express Entry draw in 2024 and the 311th overall. Candidates invited have a 60-day window to submit their applications, which are typically processed within six months.
